BUSINESS SUPPORT THAT GETS IMPORTANT WORK HANDLED

I help small-business owners and managers get control of financial, administrative, and operational work that has become disorganized, overdue, unclear, or too much for one person to carry.

With more than 25 years of controller, office-management, and business-consulting experience, I can step into an existing situation, understand what needs attention, and help get it working properly.

HOW I CAN HELP

I help small businesses with the financial, administrative, and operational work that keeps the business running well.

Some businesses need ongoing controller-level accounting support. Others need someone to clean up a problem, organize work that has outgrown the current system, take responsibility for overdue projects, or provide experienced support to an owner or manager.

The work may involve accounting, administration, systems, people, communication, or several of those at once. The goal is straightforward: reliable information, clear responsibilities, fewer things falling through the cracks, and important work moving forward.

ACCOUNTING AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

Accurate books, useful financial information, and help when something doesn’t look right.

I can help with:

  • QuickBooks Online, Desktop, and Enterprise
  • Bookkeeping cleanup and catch-up
  • Bank, credit-card, general-ledger, and balance-sheet reconciliations
  • Accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, collections, and payroll coordination
  • Journal entries and month-end close
  • Financial statements and management reporting
  • Budgeting, cash-flow tracking, and practical financial planning
  • Accounting procedures and internal controls
  • Audit preparation and coordination with outside accountants
  • Accounting staff support, training, and oversight

I’m particularly good at finding and correcting problems when accounting records, processes, or systems have become confusing, incomplete, or unreliable.

OPERATIONS AND ADMINISTRATION

Practical help organizing the work behind the business.

A small business often runs on knowledge that lives in one person’s head, a collection of old files, or a series of last-minute reminders. That works until it doesn’t.

I can help organize responsibilities, recurring work, deadlines, records, and information so fewer things are missed and less depends on someone remembering everything.

That includes:

  • Office and administrative systems
  • Workflow, procedure, and process improvement
  • Documentation, checklists, and recurring processes
  • Project, deadline, and priority tracking
  • Purchasing, billing, collections, and vendor procedures
  • File, records, and information organization
  • Customer-service processes and follow-up
  • Coordination among owners, employees, customers, vendors, accountants, and other outside professionals

The point is not to create more paperwork. It is to make routine work simpler, clearer, and less dependent on any one person.

OWNER AND EXECUTIVE SUPPORT

Experienced support for owners and managers who have too much landing on their desks.

I can take responsibility for agreed priorities, organize information, follow up with the people involved, research and resolve problems, and make sure important work keeps moving.

This can include reviewing financial or operational information, preparing information for decisions, meetings, accountants, lenders, or vendors, coordinating communication and next steps, and keeping projects, commitments, and recurring work on track.

I work independently, use sound judgment, and handle financial, personnel, and business information with discretion.

SYSTEMS, TECHNOLOGY, AND AI

Technology should make daily work easier, not become another problem to manage.

I have experience with accounting and payroll systems, business software, e-commerce, WordPress, online business tools, communication systems, and data and information cleanup. I can help determine what is practical, organize an implementation, clean up an existing system, or make better use of tools you already have.

I also use current AI tools for research, analysis, drafting, problem-solving, and workflow support. Where it makes sense, I can help identify simple ways to save time or reduce repetitive work without adding technology that creates more complexity than it solves.

PROCESS IMPROVEMENT AND PROBLEM-SOLVING

When something isn’t working, the first job is to find the actual problem.

Sometimes the problem isn’t the amount of work. It’s the way work is set up, handed off, recorded, communicated, or followed through.

I can step into an existing process, understand what is actually happening, identify where work is getting stuck or breaking down, and help create a simpler, more reliable way to handle it.

That may involve accounting, administration, systems, technology, customer service, communication, staffing, or several issues at once. I don’t begin with a prepackaged program. I begin by understanding the situation and determining what would make a meaningful difference.

STAFF, CUSTOMER, AND VENDOR SUPPORT

Good systems still depend on people being able to work together.

I can help with staff training, written procedures, customer issues, vendor communication, and business situations that need to be handled calmly, clearly, and professionally.

I’m comfortable explaining complicated information in plain language and working with owners, employees, customers, vendors, bankers, accountants, and other outside professionals.

WHAT KIND OF HELP DO YOU NEED?

You don’t need to know which category your problem belongs in.

You may know exactly what you need: accounting cleanup, better reports, operational help, a system implementation, or steady support for work that can’t keep landing on your desk. Or you may only know that too many things are unfinished, unclear, late, or dependent on you.

Tell me what is happening, what needs to be handled or improved, and what you need the business to look like once the problem is under control. We can determine whether I’m the right person to help and what kind of arrangement makes sense.
